Gouverneur M. Sweet

Member from the 2nd District of Oswego County, was born in Onondaga County, August 7, 1822. Parents were from New York and Massachusetts. He was educated in Mexico Academy and the Falley Seminary; has been a merchant, now a farmer and manufacturer. He was elected as a Republican by a vote of 3,519 to 2,615 for Wm. H. Cox, and 107 for A.J. Potter. He is married and resides in Phoenix, Oswego County.
