Oswego County's: Guide To Government

Edward W. Fox

Edward W. Fox , son of Samuel Fox Esq. , was born at Adams, Jefferson County, N.Y. on the 14th of January, 1811. While attending the Bellville Seminary in his 20th year, an accidental collision occurred between himself and a fellow student, which is supposed to have been the origin of the disease which brought him to the grave in the prime of manhood. Previously to that collusion, he was robust and healthy - subsequently, never perfectly well in health. In the year 1836, he became a resident of Pulaski. In 1839, he married Caroline F., daughter of A. H. Stevens, Esq., a lady in whom he found those refined but active susceptibilities that seemed peculiarly adapted to meet the elevated estimate of his superior taste, and whose assiduities, in mingled respect and affection - literally little less than self - sacrificing - he most acutely and tenderly appreciated. Two daughters, with the widowed mother, deeply and justly mourn. In 1849, Mr. Fox represented this district in the State Assembly; with how much dignity, efficiency and fidelity, let the records of that winter's session and the recollection of his constituents tell.
