Peter Devendorf

Hon. Peter Devendorf, who settled on lot No. 10 in 1831, was throughout his life one of the leading men of the town. He was elected a justice of the peace several times, and for twelve years represented Hastings in the board of super- visors, of which he was frequently chosen chairman. He was also elected member of assembly in 1840 on a general ticket, voted for by the whole county, with General Kenyon, of Fulton, as his colleague, and re-elected in 1841, with A. P.
